When you think of a girl’s night in you probably think of your closest friends in their comfiest clothes with wine, laughs, and a simple cheese board. This past week I hosted a girl’s night at our house complete with all of these things, but we took it up a level and it was the ULTIMATE girl’s night!
Here are some ways I prepared for the ultimate girl’s night in at my house and tips you can use to host your own!
To prepare, I added some feminine decor to set the girly tone for the evening. I simply added blush colored, cloth napkins to my place settings tied in a pretty knot and made a short stop by the local market for some fresh flowers. I went with hydrangeas and light pink snap dragons. Both of these little items made the space feel fresh and girly for the night! I also pushed our bar cart out with some pretty wine glasses for the ladies to grab from – this makes even the coziest girl’s night in feel fancy!
For an added girl’s night bonus put a classic rom-com that every girl loves on the TV in the background! I chose You’ve Got Mail and Clueless – two that always bring on the girly nostalgia.
I decided to make the night a BRING YOUR OWN BOARD party! A few weeks before, I sent an Evite to all of the girls requesting they bring their own themed charcuterie or “snack board” to the party! You may have seen this trend going around Tik-Tok. It looked like too much fun, I couldn’t resist having our own! There were no rules for their boards, only to make it fun and they delivered!
The Bring Your Own Board theme was (mwah) perfect! It was so much fun to see everyone walk in with their surprise themed boards, plus this meant that we had PLENTY of food. An added bonus was that at the end of the night everyone took their boards back home with them which meant MINIMAL clean up at the end of the evening – voila! Is this not the best idea for a girl’s night or WHAT?
We showed up all of the themed boards, grabbed photos (duh) and then grazed and enjoyed everyone’s snacks with delicious wine. Then, we ended the night sitting and laughing by the fire-pit outside. It was truly a magical evening with the best girls – highly recommend!
I chose to make an ice cream sundae themed snack board for the party – this was great because as the host I could easily keep everything cold! It turned out super cute and made for a sweet (pun intended) little dessert after grazing the savory boards (and taking in a lot of cheese!).
