A Few of Our Favorite Spring Children’s Books This Year
Spring is such a sweet season with our little ones. We love spending time outside this time of year, listening for birds and pointing out every little sign of spring.
Naturally, our bookshelf shifts with the season too. Bird-themed stories are a favorite around here this spring—Nest by Jorey Hurley and Mama Built a Little Nest by Jennifer Ward are both fun reads that capture the wonder of nature in spring.
One new favorite is Water is Water by Miranda Paul. It’s a fun and clever way to learn about the water cycle, with gorgeous illustrations and a rhythm that makes it perfect for reading aloud.
We love to start each season with reading that season’s book by Gerda Muller (we bought these in spanish so this season is “Primavera”.) There are no words in this book, but we turn to each page and observe all of the little details in the pictures. We discuss spring by looking through each illustration.
More of our favorite books are listed and linked below. These stories help us slow down, stay curious, and enjoy the little moments—just like spring!
